10329784_10152534011922803_601214107319158217_oOver the next week, faeries, goblins, trolls, imps, ambassadors, artists, musicians, craftspeople, poets, patrons, and all sorts of wonderful and mythic things will converge on a secluded spot of woodlands draped magically over the hills beside a winding creek in the hamlet of Ouaquaga, NY for the NY Faerie Festival. And it is going to be amazing, as it has been year after year.

With Wedji, and Azog, and Gandersnitch and all of our strange magical friends, plus musical guests Frenchy & the Punk, Woodland, Jessica Star, Gandalf Murphey and the Grand Slambovians, and all sorts of other incredible talent as well.

They have a new road to the campsite, to help alleviate last year’s challenges with carriages stuck in the mud, “secret” musical revelries in the woods after sunset, and of course out favorite: Sparkle Chai! The Goblin Embassy will be there, and the Troll tribe with their bridge, and Gandersnitch’s Tea Parties, and the Elfchess Tri-Realm Championships! Listen to the episode, which will give you a taste of the vision of the festival, but don’t forget to buy your tickets and come to the party! Seriously, this is one you do not want to miss.

10323613_10152383227626399_683144360_oAs we are still insanely busy dealing with life and freak shows and festivals and late night ER visits for crazy fragile humans that pass out on pain meds for no apparent reason… And because we love Posie and she seemed very sad that Gandersnitch said we were waiting a WHOLE year to post this episode – we have now uploaded the second session of our super awesome live recording thingy from Spoutwood Farms May Day Faerie Festival.

And what is so awesome about this insanely long (41 min) episode of Goblin Talk?

It has TWIG! And Posie. And a Bush. And Azog…

And they have a dance off. Which makes no sense on radio, but it was pretty funny in person. So, listen to the episode and enjoy. And next year, don’t miss out. See it LIVE… in a barn. (Yeah. They stuck us in a barn. Where we belong!)

travis and susan As we continue to recover from our trek through the mythic realms of Spoutwood and Maryland, and Wedji prepares to do whatever it is she does to actually make a living (no seriously, Don’t Google That!) we catch back up with our favorite sword swallowing circus freak, Travis Fessler of Pickled Brothers Circus to discuss his sordid love life. Yes folks, it is strange but true, even the freakiest of folks can sometimes manage to find a match. Travis is a beacon of hope for all us lonely weirdos out there. It still counts if he had to resort to trickery, though… Right?

nosepicking It is that time of year again! Birds are singing, grass is growing, rains are falling, and we have 4 more days till Spoutwood Farms Mayday Faerie Festival… Crap! We have only four more days till our first Faerie Festival, and then MDFF right after that! So much to do, so much to pack! Stay cool Wedji, stay cool.

So, here it is – our Faerie Festival Frenzy, lets all get revved up and excited for the weekend, extra special, uber-important, bet you all weren’t even expecting one this week but we did it because we love you anyways and you all deserve the best goblinyness we can give, episode of awesomeness! wiggins On today’s program we taunt Jeremiah Wiggins, the “Human” Ambassador to the Faerie Courts. All ribbing aside, Wiggins is an amazing gentleman. Full of mystery, history, and magic, you can find him wandering around the grounds of many a Renaissance and Faerie Festival with his giant mushroom rekindling the magic in young and old alike. It was he who was instrumental in arranging the terms of Gandersnitch’s asylum among the Faeries, and he who introduced us Goblins to a more civilized way of playing elf chess. Sure we will sabotage him at every angle, but that’s just what Goblins do. He is truly a man of the people… Or well, he was. Whatever you do, don’t mention the tail.

10155853_10152382430364365_6530021521251584133_nToday on the program we make friends with a gentleman that sounds like god, Joshua Beard. He is a photographer traveling Asia to teach kids about creativity. Do we really need to say anything more than that? I don’t think so. Go back and read that sentence again…

He is so awesome, that we spend almost ten minutes chatting with him. Well really, we spent over an hour talking to him and cut it down to the most informative 10 minutes. And there was still so much more to say. But we can’t do EVERYTHING for you. Listen to the podcast, and then check out his blog: www.strangetinypeople.com. Trust us, you will be glad you did!

azog

Today we bring you a BONUS episode – all about everyone’s favorite over-sized lump, Azog Greater Goblin! Or at least that was the plan… But Azog is too to be bound by clocks or schedules. Seriously, if it is a fancy or expensive clock, he should not be anywhere near it, bound or not. Seeing as how time is money, and money is basically non-existent over here, we could not waste the recording session. And the nasty little gnomes in line behind us were adamant about starting their gardening program on time this week. So here it is: Waiting For Azog.

chai

Everybody loves Chai! It is like the sheer essence of Autumn in a single gulp. This is what the Greeks meant, when they talked about the ‘Nectar of the Gods’. But like any good Greek tragedy, our friends from Sparkle Chai are in trouble. Their carriage has been felled, their finances tested, their mission of mercy to bring Chai to the needy masses of goblins has been placed in jeopardy, and they might just pissed of Zeus by not sleeping with cows. I mean, we don’t know how it actually happened, but that is the best guess I have got.

Anyhow, Bucky and Emily are our favorite Chai people. And heck, lets be honest, some of our favorite people period. And they need help to get stuff fixed and things rolling to the first festival of their season, Spoutwood Farms May Day Faerie Festival. And that is where you come in. Go to their site, support their fundraiser, get Chai. Easy right? Seriously. Do it. Right now. And reap the rewards of being a loving, and supporting fan. www.gofundme.com/SparkleChai2014

Or don’t… in which case there will be no Chai, and all treaties are off, and the goblins will be cranky, and we don’t take any prisoners. Just saying. The first option is way better for everyone.

triogoblinsWe have decided to move to a bi-weekly format, in solidarity with… you know, people and stuff. Because you shouldn’t judge, or so they say. But do those people in turn judge those who are judging? Who judges the judges? That’s what I want to know…

Right, sorry – since people are having withdrawals from the schedule change, and are all discombobulated from the time change over in America, we decided to make things a bit more bearable and give you an extra special early episode this week! (Or late, if you were expecting it last week.) This one is all about our four favorite faerie festivals! It is also seven and a half minutes long, because we wanted to make sure all of them got a good bit of time. We also determine once and for all, which faerie festival is the best of the best!

Now, I know what you are saying – but these don’t start for over another month, and one of them isn’t even till the summer. This is true, but you have to plan now people! Buy your tickets, book your cabin, secure your tent space, take the kids out of school, come up with an excuse for forgetting Mother’s Day, and practice your emergency floatation survival skills in case of flooding! Don’t wait till the day before… Unless you do wait till the day before… I mean you can still go, even if you decide at the last minute. You could even wait till it has started and then come, that’s ok. But don’t wait till the day after, cause then you would be bored and all alone and tasked with cleaning the whole mess up.

If we didn’t name your favorite faerie festival here, it is because we either don’t know about it, have never been invited to it, or might have been banished from it, it requires us to swim across an ocean to get there, or we forgot about it in the magnificence of these other four.

Here are the links to the websites of our four favorite Faerie Festivals:
Festival of Legends – April 26th & 27th – Chapel Hill, NC.

Spoutwood Farm’s May Day Faerie Festival – May 2nd to 4th – Glenn Rock, PA

Maryland Faerie Festival – May 10th & 11th – Darlington, MD

NY Faerie Festival – June 27th to 29th – Ouaquaga, NY

dali_pma_05_17We were supposed to get together and record this weeks podcast… Instead, Wedji and Azog were all excited about this new game they had found and insisted we try it out. Something about digging up graves and collecting the moustaches of famous dead people. Sounds gobliny enough for me! And then Azog had this awesome idea for a new segment of the show. So today, you get a bit of a backstage look at what we do when we aren’t exactly doing what we are supposed to do. Enjoy!

Oh yeah – you can find the game we played here: http://www.amazon.com/Moustache-Name-that-Stache-Game/dp/B00A0E0ZX8
